W. Bohemian Symphony Orchestra

Marienbad is home to the oldest symphony orchestra in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1821, today it puts on concerts all-year-round. Enjoy the excellent artistry of this orchestra and let the music sweep you away.

Chopin Festival

Frederic Chopin was one of Marienbad’s most famous guests. Each year, the Chopin Festival is dedicated to him during the third week of August. It also happens to be one of the five oldest music festivals in Europe. International musicians and composers perform in what has become one of the highlights of Marienbad’s cultural offerings. Every two years, young pianists compete in a Chopin piano competition as part of the festival.

PechaKucha Night

At this festival, architects, designers, and photographers display their work and discuss them at the afterparty.

Galleries and Exhibitions

Take a peek into the town’s galleries. National and international artists exhibit their work in Marienbad. A new exhibition also opens in the city museum every month.

Grand Prix Marienbad

There is also a Grand Prix in Marienbad. No, we’re not talking about Formula 1 racing. Marienbad hosts the Grand Prix of pétanque. This game, which resembles lawn bowling, requires great precision. Watch how skilfully master players roll the balls.

Jazz Spa

At the end of June and beginning of July, jazz fans stream into this resort town. Let the music and relaxed atmosphere carry you away.

Historical Car Show

The annual vintage car meet-up in the city centre seems particularly appropriate for this historical town. Admire polished wagons from times long gone.

A Pocket Full of Fairy Tales

Fairy tales take over Marienbad every second and third week of July. In the courtyard of the Chopin House, various theatre groups perform for children and all audience members who still feel the magical pull of fairy tales.

Marienbad Film Festival

Marienbad provides a picturesque backdrop for this film festival. The films are projected onto a big screen, creating a special atmosphere in the town.

Autumn in Marienbad

Autumn comes alive with folklore. Colourful costumes, loud music, good cheer, and typical Czech enthusiasm set the tone for this international festival. Join in and celebrate.

Mushroom Exhibition

This exhibition is worth seeing – the amount of mushrooms, recipes, and dishes will astound you. Expert mycologists will show you how to tell different kinds of mushrooms apart.

Apple Spa Festival

Crisp, fresh apples take centre stage at the annual Apple Festival in the colonnade. Homemade products highlight the region’s fruit and vegetables. Of course, you’re welcome to sample them all.

RC Morrison: Acest club este dedicat muzicii rock și prezintă atât trupe locale, cât și trupe din regiune. Aflați ce trupe cântă și mergeți acolo.
