The Rich Heritage of Buxton

Oozing charm and sophistication, the Buxton Crescent is a beautifully elegant setting for both wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Grade-I listed Georgian Hotel is located in the idyllic spa town of Buxton, Derbyshire, and appears as though it is lifted from the pages of a romantic period novel.

Inside the property’s uniquely curved, honey-coloured stone façade there is a hidden world full of exquisite luxury and authentic rich interiors, with a number of stunningly restored function rooms, such as the grand ballroom complete with a breathtaking plasterwork ceiling and beautiful chandeliers.

Originally built between 1779-1789 by the Fifth Duke of Devonshire, the Crescent is one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country and provides a unique and exclusive backdrop for your wedding.

Bespoke Wedding Packages at The Crescent

At Ensana Buxton Crescent, you have the choice to either book a civil ceremony or partnership since we hold a Ceremonies Licence, or to book a wedding reception only if you are choosing to first get married in a religious ceremony elsewhere. As an exclusive use wedding venue, we do not permit ceremony only packages.

For all of our packages, exclusive hire of our East Wing is included, comprising the Parlour, Grand Staircase and stunning Assembly Rooms. Please note a ceremony room hire fee of £500.00 is applicable to all of our civil ceremony or partnership bookings, which must be added onto your package.

All our wedding packages will start with a drinks reception by the Grand Staircase, where celebration drinks will be served to your guests as they arrive. Your friends and loved ones will also be able to relax in the Parlour, perhaps while you and your newly wedded partner take photographs outside of our stunning heritage building. The wedding breakfast will be served in the Assembly Rooms ballroom, which will be refreshed following the proceedings and before the arrival of evening guests.

Overnight accommodation for the wedding night in the Wedding Suite is also included with each package, ensuring the happy couple can start forever together in luxury and comfort.

Whichever wedding experience you book with us, you are sure to enjoy a mouthwatering array of fine-dining delights. Exquisite canapes can be added to your package to be enjoyed during your drinks reception, with a delectable range of options available from wild truffled mushroom tartlets to marinated duck and orange skewers.

Our expert in-house chefs design memorable and unique menu choices for your big day, bringing their culinary flare and passion to the table. Two months prior to your wedding, you will be invited to a complementary menu tasting in The Dining Room to select your chosen starter, main course and dessert, as well as sample our wine menu. Rest assured that any of your guests’ dietary requirements can be catered for.
