Stay Active in Sárvár

The public thermal baths in Sárvár are not just tempting with their many healing, adventure and children’s pools. Hardy swimmers will find enough space for a few practice lengths in our 25-metre swimming pool with four lanes. Inside the spa there’s a gym with cardio and fitness equipment. In the outdoor area you can play beach volleyball and football. In summer, try to score as close to the jack as possible on one of the Pétanque courts.

The natural landscape around Sárvár is best explored on a bicycle. Hire a bike, push those pedals and come to grips with the hills of Ság or Somló Mountains,or decide to ride through the beautiful surroundings to Kőszeg.

Recharge your batteries while out hiking or Nordic walking. The surrounding hills and meandering hiking trails are easy to tackle, as you take in the scenic beauty of the Sárvár region.

Near the spa you’ll find a lake, separated into four sections, with five islands that are connected by bridges. Take a tour to watch the bustling ducks and waterfowl. Or take a romantic boat tour, try your luck at fishing or even ice skating in the winter. Bring a little variety to your stay and take advantage of what’s on offer around the lake.

Boat trips on the Rába are a top-class adventure. Start in the upper area of the river and let yourself drift with the water to Sárvár. Enjoy the scenery as you leisurely pass by.

Should it rain, well, no problem! You’ll still be splendidly entertained. Practice your skills on one of the two bowling alleys at the public spa.

Tasting Hungarian wine is all part of having a holiday in this country – the same in Sárvár. The nearby Somló Mountain is a wine-growing area of international renown. Full-bodied white wine thrives here on the slopes of an extinct volcano. Be sure to enquire about the dates for wine tastings. Don’t miss this wine enthusiast’s delight and test the excellent Furmint, Welschriesling, Hárslevelű, Rhine Riesling and Juhfark.

Typical Hungarian dishes as well as modern gastronomy await you in the numerous restaurants and pubs in Sárvár and in the town’s surrounding area. Stop by for a bite to eat, dine away and enjoy the Hungarian hospitality. 

Right next to public spa is the adventure park. Young and old may dare to take on different challenges and spend an eventful day at the park:

Do you ride a motorcycle? Try it out on one of the most famous motorcycle racing circuits in Europe. The Pannonia Ring is open to anyone who wants to get their engine racing. Ask if any races are on the programme. Be sure to watch, it’s going to be hot.

Take a trip to the area surrounding ​the town. Drive to Sitke, for example, and visit the remains of a Roman amphitheatre. Kőszeg is a little further away, but the drive there is worthwhile. Visit the Esterhazy Palace and its organic shop with an extensive range of options.
